I would like start the AMA asking you to give us a short introduction of SIDUS project for our community, especially for the new users in crypto that joined us today?
I will try making it short…
Basically, SIDUS HEROES is the first ever WebGL, AAA-level, Play-to-Earn, NFT and MMORPG game set in a space metaverse at a time when technological advancements have reached the level of merging with all living beings. Simply put, it’s a high-quality gaming metaverse that offers breathtaking scenarios and multiple earning opportunities that can all be accessed from a browser in one click.
The SIDUS HEROES game is built on a ‘play-to-earn’ model, which means all in-game items are represented as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and remain in the possession of users. Players are rewarded with in-game tokens for advancing through the game.
Can you please tell us a bit about yourself, your role and involvement in the SIDUS project? Also, about the team behind the scene? What background and experience do they have?
My role in the project is a Chief Relations Officer. I’m responsible for communications with the project’s supporters and partners and building trusting relationships for long-term productive cooperation. I’m also involved in the development and implementation of token economies and market strategy as well as being a COO at NFTSTARS/ SPACESWAP projects.
Overall, SIDUS HEROES is built by an experienced tech company with 200+ full-time employees that have numerous successful projects under their collective belt. The SIDUS team features a large number of highly skilled blockchain developers with years of experience building DeFi and NFT products. Many members of the SIDUS team come from the game development industry and are skilled in applying cutting-edge technologies and multimedia solutions. If anyone wants to learn more about the team, they can go to the section ‘About Us’ on our website, where they will find information on the core team members, including their experience and background.
Going back to SIDUS game, can you please tell us some unique features that makes SIDUS game different or are new in the blockchain gaming space?
Long story short, SIDUS HEROES is the first ever game that uses WebGL technology in its architecture, which is the biggest USP we’re introducing that sets us apart from other projects. WebGL is used to render interactive 3D graphics within compatible web browsers, without the need for additional plugins or instruments. It means that the SIDUS game will be accessible through a web browser. Players don’t need to download any applications onto their phones or PCs. They just type in the SIDUS URL and press ‘Play’.
No need either to wait while the content is being upgraded or having to free up storage on your device before you can download the game and start playing. The best part is that players don’t need to check their device specs or make sure they’re compatible with the game. Our development team has worked hard to create a game that covers 60–70% of currently used devices. As the game evolves, the percentage of supported devices will grow.
This is a big step. Users who have been previously priced out of blockchain gaming (along with its many earning opportunities) can now gain access to this world. Instead of spending $500 to over $1,000 on a device or full gaming set, users can play SIDUS on the devices they already own.
As on the other side, we are also mostly focused on the “Human hours” spent in the game instead of just selling in-game items for crazy prices, which the majority of crypto games do nowadays. So we are making it as interactive as possible
As per the road map, on 10th January we will have a closed beta released followed by a public beta version of the game on the 23rd of January. What do we have to do in order to play the game or take part on this early stage? Do we have to own genesis NFT’s? Will we be able to buy other kind of NFT’s except the ones from genesis?
I will quickly make an explanation 😊!
On January 10th 2022, we’re launching a closed beta version of the game. This version will only be available to holders of NFTs from the Genesis SIDUS: NFT Heroes collection. The collection is sold out, so it’s only available on the secondary market now. If you want to get access to the game early on, go and check the NFT Heroes on OpenSea and grab yourself an NFT Hero.
On January 23rd, we will launch a public beta version of the game. This too will have limited access, available only to holders of certain NFTs — those from the Genesis NFT and Academy NFT collections. The Academy collection is coming out in December this year. It features NFTs (cheaper than the ones from the Genesis collection) that serve only as tickets to the game.
On the SIDUS website we have FARMING and STARTER tabs which are marked as coming soon. Can you please tell us a bit about both? We do have an idea about what the 2 means but would like to get more details from you if possible😊.
SIDUS farming will enable holders of in-game and governance tokens to multiply their holdings. As any other farming service, it will reward users for staking their tokens.
SIDUS Starter is a tool that helps players get funding and find support for ideas they want to realize inside the SIDUS metaverse. It’ll be much like an in-game launchpad where players can share information about projects they want to initiate and try to raise investments from fellow SIDUS Heroes. This capability will create a world in which the most viable ideas make it to production, not those that a small group of developers decides to pursue.
Before we move to our winning questions, I would like to ask you one more question, if possible. Please tell us on which Blockchain the game will run and if there are any plans for listing on top tier exchanges?
Sure, the game will be available on the Ethereum network and Layer 2 solutions. We will share more details closer to the release.
Our team is working on listing the tokens on BINANCE, OKEX, KUCOIN, HUOBI, MEXC, BYBIT and UNISWAP.
First question comes from @MissOneLife:
“Why you choose to implement a 2 token based in-game economy (Sidus and Senate), and why you think that this model is better for Sidus, than a single token-based economy? You will list only the $Sidus token on exchanges or also the $Senate token?”
We’re building more than a game, a metaverse in fact, where players have real power to influence how the story unfolds. That’s why we decided to separate players at the token level. Those who’re truly invested in the game (and I’m talking about time and energy), will have the SENATE token to express their opinion. SENATE will be also used to purchase items like plots of land, spaceships and station modules. Owners of these types of properties will have a lot of influence in the community, so we want to make sure these items are in good hands.
The SIDUS token, by contrast, is an in-game token and will be widely used by people mostly interested in farming and speculating on the price growth. We thought it’d be wrong to mix SIDUS’ different audience segments and decided to introduce two tokens.
Second question comes from @Allex_D82:
“In this phase the game is browser based — are there plans to develop apps / games to be downloaded and played directly on the devices? Does it / will it support controllers such as gamepads on PC or on mobile devices? Xbox / PS4 versions envisaged?”
At the current stage, our team is sticking with WebGL development, meaning the game will be available in any compatible web browser, as I explained earlier. We consider this to be our competitive advantage and don’t plan on releasing device-specific applications.
Third question comes from @Benji84649642:
“Have you thought about the possibility that the players could mint their own NFTs and integrate in game so he can customize his hero, like own faces, clothes and so on?”
Was expecting this creative question
Our team provides players with all the tools they need for customizing their Heroes, so they don’t even have to consider that possibility We rely on advanced client mathematical algorithms for shaders and wave functions in the construction of three-dimensional models, spaces and animations specifically developed for the game.
They provide SIDUS’ game developers and producers with many opportunities for character morphing, such as dynamically changing the size and proportions of their figure, muscle relief, thickness, texture and skin color, even the shape of their hairstyle. SIDUS Heroes will be highly customizable, so users will have plenty of room to express themselves and experiment. So, no need to mint any other NFTs.
Forth question comes from @mamabeatme:
“Do you think you could integrate AI that always updates game mechanics according to the experiences of players overall and take the game to another level depending on how the game evolves and battles between races?”
We strive to develop a technically advanced game and provide our players with the best experience. At this point, we’re not considering AI integration, but who knows, maybe at some point in the future our incredible development team decides to do it.
Last winning question comes from @CRISTIA65215455.
“I would like to have a portal through which the species from SIDUS interact with different species from other games, they can teleport to other games or parallel worlds, and they can interact with the metaverse from these games.” Will it be possible in the near future?
We’ve partnered up with many incredible gaming and game development companies. One day, we might see a portal to one of the metaverse’s.
Community questions during open AMA
Do you think that a possible Bear Market will influence the evolution of the Sidus project?
Not at this stage. Of course, no project is fully secured, however, with an amount of work implemented and close to release date — that’s not likely to happen.
We can get a good idea of the magnitude of Sidus from the recent medium article, and it’s obvious you did your research well.
However, what are your plans to keep the economy of Sidus engaging and rewarding if imbalances arise, beside the mechanics you already employed?
Of course, no other strategy can make the economy system as well as the player itself.
That’s why we have decided to make quite a few moments at this stage.
1. We will be having a leaderboard that would share in-game SIDUS tokens among the leaders — some of them might withdraw the tokens and sell them on the exchange, however, the smart ones will reinvest these tokens in various things as: resources, armour, weapons etc. and get to even higher leaderboard position next time.
2. We are keeping the game as interactive as possible. As previously mentioned, we are focusing on the “human hours” other than any of the fund-raising stuff as an item selling. We do not abuse any of the player’s property and making the game interesting for every newcomer.
On the top of that, we will have various professions list that the players will be working as, check it out yourself: https://sidusheroes.com/docs/economy.pdf
Will I be able to play Sidus with my VR Oculus glasses?
High chances of this happening with no further details.
How will you balance the game between casual and hardcore, especially considering the new generation of young gamers who will commence their gaming journeys directly in the metaverse?
At this stage, we are now launching the PVP strategy, and in this case it’s not about how young the person is but how the thinking works.
We are also implementing quite a few interesting surrounding features that we call as environmental factors.
So, let’s say you are staying next to the water and decide to use the shockwave to attack your enemy. For obvious reason not only your enemy but you get the damage as well once the shockwave contacts with the water you are staying at.
So we are not fully focused on making the hardcore gaming but enjoyable process of play to earn game that will be accessible for everyone, even from the old laptops or any phones.
Once again, I’d suggest trying out our demo: play.sidusheroes.com.
